Ready for Anything.

Grow it · Keep it · Pass it down · Sell it

The Four Owner Paths

Same Exit Ready methodology. Four destinations.

Don't ask "Are you ready to exit?" Ask a better question: What do you want your business to do for you? Then choose your path.

GROW — Build a bigger, more profitable business

“I want to build a bigger, more profitable business.”

Focus areas Leadership · Recurring Revenue · Margins · KPIs · AI/Technology · Systems · Talent · Acquisitions · Owner Independence

OWN — Keep it, but make it run without you

“I love my business. I want to keep it — but I want it to depend less on me.”

Focus areas De-ownerization · #2/Integrator · Systems · Management Team · Cash Flow · Wealthficiency™ · Resilience

PASS — Keep it in the family or transition internally

“I want the business to stay in the family or transition internally.”

Focus areas Family Governance · Successor Development · Ownership vs. Employment · Compensation · Communication · Estate Coordination · Leadership Transition

EXIT — Be ready to sell on your terms, on your timeline

“I may want to sell — in 2, 5 or 10 years.”

Focus areas Freedom Number · Value Gap · Valuation · Buyer Readiness · Recurring Revenue · Concentration · Management Independence · Diligence · Deal Team · Personal Planning · Act II

Why Exit-Ready = Growth Strategy

Preparing for any outcome makes the business better today.

Premium Multiples

Clean numbers and tight financials get top-of-market valuations — and better banks, better terms, better options.

Scalable Growth

Owner-independence unlocks real scalability, whether you scale or step back.

More Freedom

Tighter systems mean more time in the seat that matters — and fewer 70-hour weeks.

More Options

Higher value means more paths: sell, succeed, or scale. The choice stays yours.

Your plans are nobody's business but yours.

Participation in Exit Ready Institute (ERI) doesn't mean you're selling your company. Some members want to sell. Some want to pass the company to their children. Some want to double it. Some simply want a business that doesn't require them 70 hours a week.

Your participation — and your plans — remain confidential.

Bobby Mascia, founder of the Exit Ready Institute, smiling

Battle-tested, not theoretical.

Founded by Bobby Mascia — entrepreneur, wealth advisor, and author of "Unchained: The Raw Truth About Entrepreneurship, Family Business and Life Balance."

Bobby grew up around his family's business, went to college, and started his career on Wall Street. Then he left to help run the family company, scaling it from 20 to 40 locations.

But growth wasn't the problem. Succession was. The business was built to run through its founder — and his father had no interest in changing that, or in planning for what came next. Bobby hit his "Enough" moment, walked away, and in 2016 founded Green Ridge Wealth Planning to advise owners whose businesses and financial lives were as tangled as his family's.

Then the pressure arrived. His father fell terminally ill, and Bobby stepped back in — this time with everything he'd learned. He rebuilt the company, created a family office, bought out his mother, and now runs it all alongside GRWP.

ERI is the playbook he wishes he'd had: built by an operator who lived a failed succession, and an advisor who's sat on both sides of the table.

Prepare before the pressure arrives.

“I'm not trying to convince you to sell your business. I'm trying to make damn sure you could.”

Because a business somebody would want to buy is usually a business you'd want to keep. Better people. Better numbers. Better systems. Less dependence on you.

  • Maybe you sell it.
  • Maybe your kids take it over.
  • Maybe management buys you out.
  • Maybe you keep it for another twenty years.

That's the point. You get to choose.
